After being in the Green Bay area for four years, New York native Ray Sgambati was surprised to find that the area did not offer a restaurant that catered to his taste for New York-style pizza. Feeling a need to fill the void, Ray decided to take on the venture of opening a restaurant. Although he had never owned a restaurant before, he received plenty of advice from "Big Apple" relatives in the business and family recipes that come from their Italian heritage.
Ray Sgambati says that in New York, the national pizza chains don't survive because they can't compete with all of the family-owned pizzerias that offer traditional recipes which boast fresh ingredients and generous portions. This is what Sgambati's New York Pizza is all about. New York-style slices are big and bold, offering a whole new definition for what qualifies as a large pizza. Because the "New York way" to eat a slice of pizza is to pick it up and fold it in half, Sgambati was puzzled when local customers were asking for a fork and knife. He quickly had to adjust to the preferences of Green Bay area patrons.
Sgambati's takes pride in their philosophy of providing home-made, affordable pizza & pasta dishes in a family-friendly, casual environment. Stop in to experience a big slice of the "Big Apple".
